Hilary Duff Rocks In The New Year

For the 34th consecutive year, "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" will lead America into the New Year, and singer/actress Hilary Duff has been set to preside over the Hollywood party segments of the special, airing Saturday, Dec. 31, on ABC. Duff will perform three songs and introduce some of today's hottest musical artists. Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest will report "live" on the festivities in New York, including the final minutes of the year 2005 with the traditional Times Square ball drop and countdown to midnight.

Film, TV and pop music star Hilary Duff has had another banner year. Not only did her Most Wanted CD collection debut at No. 1 and go on to sell over 1 million copies, but she headlined a sold-out arena tour across the U.S., and celebrated her 18th birthday. Even with her nonstop schedule, Duff still makes time to give back to those less fortunate; in addition to being a charter member of the Kids with a Cause Foundation, Duff donated $250,000 to Hurricane Katrina Relief. Next up, she reprises her starring role in Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and co-stars in Material Girls with her sister, Haylie.

Dick Clark, who returns to the festivities after missing last year's show, as he was recovering from a stroke, is one of the most recognized and popular personalities in entertainment in America. Ryan Seacrest became a household name in 2002 as the host of American Idol, has continued his reign through the phenomenon's fourth season and is now gearing up for a fifth. He has hosted such top programs as "The Radio Music Awards," "The Billboard Music Awards," as well as a series of specials that he executive-produced under his production company, Ryan Seacrest Prod.

Hilary Duff & Lindsay Lohan Will Never Be Friends

Singer/actress Hilary Duff insists there is still too much bad blood between her and Lindsay Lohan for them to even consider being friends. The teen stars have a long-standing rivalry, which began in 2002 after they both dated singer Aaron Carter. At the time Lohan reportedly accused Duff of stealing Carter from her and spreading nasty rumors.

Duff retaliated, "Sometimes I feel like I really hate her, which is pretty extreme for me." The singer claims that even though time has passed, she's still not ready to forgive Lohan and establish a cordial relationship. She explains, "There's so much that's been put between her and me. If I saw her, I'd never say hi because it's so awkward."

Hilary Duff Is Saving Herself for Marriage

Hilary Duff insists punk rocker boyfriend Joel Madden will have to put a wedding ring on her finger before he gets the chance to sleep with her because she plans to stay a virgin until her wedding night.

The 18-year-old pop star/actress has revealed she has never had sex and is upset when fans automatically assume she and Good Charlotte star Madden are bedmates.

She says, "It's harder having a boyfriend who's older because people just assume. But (virginity) is definitely something I like about myself. It doesn't mean I haven't thought about sex, because everyone I know has had it and you want to fit in."

Hilary & Haylie Duff Design Barbie Clothing

Hilary Duff has added doll clothing designer to her impressive resume after being asked to create a new line for Barbies in Japan. The pop star/actress and sister Haylie, both huge Barbie fans, have been asked by toymaker Mattel to design a mini-wardrobe for their Japanese likenesses.

Hilary says, "Barbies have really cool couture clothes in Japan... They made Barbies of Haylie and I and we got to design the clothes and it was really cool. (Asian designer) Anna Sui has a Barbie doll and all these designer clothes so we felt special."

She’s got a major supporter in Miley Cyrus, but singer and actress Hilary Duff played the role of fan last week as she cheered on her NHL hockey player beau, Mike Comrie, at the New York Islanders / New York Rangers game at New York City’s Madison Square Garden last Sunday, November 19.

The Islanders won, 2-1, in a rough game featuring many skirmishes, including Rangers hothead Sean Avery (a reputed Mary-Kate Olsen / Elisha Cuthbert / Lake Bell boy toy) being punched in the head by Isles’ goalie Rick DiPietro.

Haylie Duff Approves of Hilary Duff Dating Mike Comrie

Hilary Duff and Haylie Duff are so close, they’re like sisters.

So you know it’s a big deal for Hilary’s hockey player boyfriend, Mike Comrie, to have officially passed the all-important Haylie test.

“I think he’s great and so special,” said big sister Haylie Duff, 22, to People at the Guess/Conde Nast Movies Rock party in L.A. on November 29.

“I love him. He’s a really great guy.”

Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie - the former collegiate All-American and 27-year-old forward for the New York Islanders - have been dating since the summer. That’s not too long, but Mike Comrie is already known for big displays of devotion.

In September, Mike Comrie “surprised” Hilary Duff with a $100,000 Mercedes in honor of the singer and actress’ 20th birthday.

“He’s good to her,” Haylie Duff said. “That’s all I care about.”

Hilary Duff’s Stalker Nightmare Over

The so called “fan” who has been allegedly stalking one of Hollywood’s hotties and her boyfriend, has been arrested after he threatened to kill Hilary Duff.

The young starlet made it through the last several weeks, during which she has been constantly stalked and threatened with death by Maksim Miakovsky, an 18-year-old Russian immigrant. This weekend however, according to her stalker, it would have been her last one alive.

The young man was arrested by Manhattan Beach cops this Friday at the Residence Inn, for allegedly telling a private investigator from Sunset Protective Services and Investigations, the company that provides protection to big-name celebs like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, as well as Duff, that he planned to kill Duff on Sunday at an event she was set to attend, sources told TMZ.com.

Together with her boyfriend, Joel Madden, the starlet asked for a restraining order last month insisting that Miakovsky "has stated his intention of 'removing' his 'enemies', has stated his intention of purchasing a weapon, and has threatened to kill himself and to engage in dramatic actions to get her attention."

The young star claimed in the court papers that she was afraid for her life and that she and her boyfriend were being stalked by two men, one was supposedly a homeless and the other one a paparazzi.

The complaint also claimed that Miakovsky had expressed a desire to "remov[e] his enemies” and "has stated his belief that Hilary is in love with him and that Joel Madden stands in their way."

Apparently, Miakovsky moved to Los Angeles in the U.S. from Russia two years ago "for the sole purpose of meeting and becoming romantically involved" with Duff.

Mayakovski’s roommate, 50-year-old paparazzo, David Joseph Klein, was named in the papers as the intermediary who passed the threats on to the star during the last six weeks. According to the court documents, David Joseph Klein is also a threat.

In his desperate need to get the 19-year-old star’s attention, Miakovsky “engaged in an accelerated effort to make contact with Hilary, including visits to her neighborhood, to her mother's home, to her boyfriend's neighborhood ... to Mr. Madden's concert venue, and direct calls to Hilary's manager."

The restraining order is also valid on Duff’s mother, Susan, her sister Haylie and Madden’s twin brother, Benji.

Miakovsky is currently being kept at the Manhattan Beach jail. His bail was set at $200,000. He's set to be arraigned on Tuesday in Torrance, Calif.
